Is now available for order. Limited edition 2000 copies. Quite pricey if you live in the USA, but worth it to me. Total with shipping came to $75.

Just ordered mine. 50 Euros to Norway, quite a bit of money, but it will be worth it.

I can't believe it's almost 15 years since the last release!

It's been so long waiting for this release, if it does end up taking 4 weeks for delivery, it's no big deal. After several years, what's a few more weeks. Ok, that's what I'm telling myself, but I really want it NOW. smile

£9 for UK postage? Is it delivered by Airwolf itself?

Jigawatts,
Thanks for the update. I've just ordered the CD set. I remember many years ago hearing about the first release and have since bought the digital version. Looking forward to seeing what the new CD is like!

Wow, but it is INTERESTING to post something just to piss on them?

Get a life.

Well, then you clearly haven't heard the re-recordings whch are of the highest quality possible.

So 50 euro for two CDs of re-recordings? Should have been more affordable, If this was the original tracks and had an extra disc, that price might seem fair.

Imagine if this were a Kickstarter campaign - where the first contributors paid $80 and got these exclusive new recordings for their own sake and as an emblem of support

Many people who love this sort of thing wouldn't bat an eye.

This seems like just the same sort of thing, only in reverse. This isn't really a commercial product, because there just isn't a commercial market for TV music re-recordings. It is more akin to a fundraising campaign, in which case this price point is reasonable.

They say that it will be on iTunes at some point. I will wait until then to see if I like it.

$75 for a re-recording?? Uh, yeah, no. Good luck with not offering it as an affordable download immediately too. The second this gets into people's hands it'll start showing up online everywhere (as did the first one) for people to grab....and for free. Someone isn't very savvy with their marketing.

Some of us only like original recordings and I am one that just passes on most electronic re-recordings. Even if this was the original recording I would pass at $75.00 for 2 CDs. That price is just too high.

I have to agree.

If it was the original recordings then maybe that type of price could be justified, but for a fan made remake it's a bit out touch with modern day pricing structures.

For $75 you would maybe expect a cd, a vinyl, a lossless download, and some other merchandise.

Is the high price because of licensing costs owed to universal?

Sounds great. I bought the first set when it came out. If I still have some money left in a few weeks, maybe... smile

I thought it was a bit steep but I understand that they're being shipped from Ireland, using a recorded service and well packaged.

I missed the boat on the original 2-CD collection and had to buy it from ebay, before the idea of a digital download became a reality. (I didn't pay anywhere near as much as some have). I was very pleased with the recordings. Some were actually better than Sylvester Levay's "on air" tracks because of the technology that was available.

This project is a labour of love for the creators and not some cynical way of cashing in on a glut in the market. This is one of the reasons why it has taken 15 years to complete; because of the perfectionist approach to releasing the best possible album.
Normally, I find reading apologists for something or someone, tedious, but there will never be an official record of Airwolf's original music; this is it. There won't be a shortage of customers-rightly or wrongly (yes, chancers will buy more than they need in case of an ebay killing).

I'm a soundtrack lover and collector.
I'm not interessed in re-recordings.
They could be better than the original, that doesn't matter to me... I'm searching ONLY for the music I have hear on TV or in the movies.
Also usually re-recordings are cheap, whereas this new album is much more expensive than an original score album. If You have money to waste, buy it.
I prefer to use my money to reward those who publish original scores albums.
This is my humble opinion.
Maybe Am I the only one, on this board, who cares only the original version of the scores?...
Should I write on this board only "GREAT! NICE! AWESOME!"??
Is this a discussion board, or DisneyLand board?

You are not, only if the original tapes are lost or destroyed do I consider getting a re-recording. There is something about the original version of a score that is a product of its time and means, which a lot -but not all- of re-recordings fail to capture. Synth-wise, I do like the rerecordings Alan Howarth did for The Thing, Dark Star and Assault on Precinct 13. In that case I appreciate the original as much as I do these new recordings.
