Robert Folk wrote a song for this movie, but a guy named Bob Floke wrote the score. The notorious Alan Smithee directed the film. Could Bob Floke really be Robert Folk?

Was "Stitches" ever released on DVD anywhere?

Until I know for sure, I call conjecture.

I think the reason you haven't gotten your answer is that nobody here knows. Your theory seems sound to me, though, given that Mr. Floke has no other credits, Folk did work on the film, and it was enough of an embarrassment for the director to take his name off it. I'm sure not many people know for sure, and if Folk did choose to use a pseudonym, he wouldn't really want to brag about it, would he?

No, I didn't expect Folk to brag about it, mister. I just wondered if anyone had any inside information.

I feel duty-bound to report that my "DVD" (?) copy of "Stitches" arrived in the mail from Australia today, and when I watched it, the credits spelled "Robert Folk" correctly. (Twice, as noted above -- he receives credit at the end for one of the movie's pop songs too.) So, I don't know where the typo originated. Anyone who knows how, please do feel free to send the correction to IMDB.

(The disc I purchased at the link above is a home-made transfer from a VHS tape, so buyers beware.)

The old trailer from 1985 for the film, also credits Robert Folk. I've submitted a correction to IMDb, but you never know with them. The pick & choose submissions, though lately they've been pretty good with taking most of mine. About a month ago I submitted the full composer credits for the TV series "Tropical Heat" and wouldn't you know it -- they actually accepted took the submission.

Thanks for the info. The strange thing is that Bob Floke is also credited with writing the Stitches score in Film Composers Guide, 4th edition (1997/98). So it's not only imdb...

I have submitted several composer credits that imdb haven't accepted:

Air - Pioneer
Thomas Newman - Masters Of Sex
Robbie Robertson - The Colour Of Money
Trevor Horn - Toys
Nathaniel Morgan - Children Of The Corn (2009)
Bent Åserud - Hockeyfeber
Bruce Gaitsch - Off-Road Warriors

Oh, they ignored well over a thousand submissions from me before they started taking them. Don't feel bad -- maybe in a 1,000+ submissions they'll start taking yours, too.

Ignored over 1000???

Geez, what a lousy gang.

They have accepted many of my submissions, but not the seven I mentioned above.

You submitted over a thousand entries? That's dedication! (Or insanity.)

The IMDB strives to be hard to manipulate, so that people in the entertainment industry don't give themselves all sorts of invented credits hoping to get work from them. (While everybody claims they don't believe IMDB, they always print out your IMDB page before a meeting.) But that results in stubbornness.

I work in television, and my IMDB page for several years had two erroneous credits, one of which would have made me at least twenty years older than I am. It actually was a real world problem for me. I tried many times to delete these credits, to no avail. Finally, my agency, after several months, was able to have them removed.

Okay, where is your IMDB link?
You know we would ask.

Well, we're talking since 2004. And somewhere over 3,000 submissions.

They fixed it today. Done and done.

First Breath, I'll submit some your submissions, too and see what happens. There are some problems with some of them.

What kind of problems?

First Breath:
What kind of problems?

Thomas Newman - Masters Of Sex
What did he do? I know he was hired to score the pilot and provide the main theme, but his pilot score was dumped and it appears all of season one was scored by Michael Penn (I don't know about season two). Was his theme kept?

Trevor Horn - Toys
He's already credited with arranging in the Music Dept. credits.

Nathaniel Morgan - Children Of The Corn (2009)
He's credited with orchestration on the film on IMDb; do you mean additional music?

Bent Åserud - Hockeyfeber
There's already two composers credited on IMDb for the film. What did he do?

Bruce Gaitsch - Off-Road Warriors
I can't find any information on this. I see he's a guitarist. What did he do?
