Here are some nice letters we've already received. We expected people
to be excited about Patton, but it's great to hear the enthusiastic
response for Flight of the Phoenix as well.
From: Alexander Foertsch <afn@netzland.net>
FINALLY!!! AT LAST... it's my turn as well to write a letter saying,
"I've waited for this release nearly all my life! Since I first saw
THE FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX as a little kid some 20 years ago, I asked myself
again and again, "Why is there no soundtrack?" I already knew
you could work minor miracles, Lukas, but this one is simply undescribable.
LUKAS, YOU ARE THE GREATEST LIVING CREATURE ON EARTH (at least for the
duration of this letter, okay...!) THANK YOU for releasing that score,
and you bet your cute little ass it's a gem!
And this, together with PATTON... it just leaves me stunned - and
breathless. Wow, what an achievement. You've just enriched my life a little.
Thanks, man. What's next???
Good question! Next (in about 4-6 weeks) is the first release in our
Golden Age Classics series, a classic and unavailable Franz Waxman score.
And by the way, I know my name is often interchangeable with Film Score
Monthly and our CDs, but it's really a bunch of us, led by Nick Redman,
who produced this album, Jeff Bond, who did the notes, and Joe Sikoryak,
our designer.

I have to tell you that I have loved all of your Silver Age releases.
I was so excited when 100 Rifles was your last one. But I almost jumped
out of my chair when I saw Patton!! I have wanted the original tracks ever
since I saw the movie in 1970 and bought the LP. This is the score that
got me into soundtrack collecting. I now have over 1200 score CDs and LPs,
but this one will be at the top of my play list. I was 12 at the time,
40 now, and have lusted after the score for 29 years. Thank you so much!!
Keep up the good work. But even if you never released another record, I
can die happy now. :)
And to answer a question we've heard more than once:
From: Jim Hollis, JHOLLIS517@aol.com
Does this mean that the LP album of Patton released when the film
originally came out was a re-recording? Just curious. I just found that
album about 10 or so years ago after looking ana dlooking. Have never turned
it up since at used record stores or even record show.
Yes, it does. The LP was recorded in London, and the film soundtrack
in Los Angeles. Our CD is the first album release of the film recording.
Thanks again for your interest! Once again, our Patton/Phoenix
CD will ship one week from today (10 days at the latest), as it is still
in manufacturing, but please order
now so we can process your order.
