Soundtrack Quiz

by Douglas Wood

The following is a cool letter/submission I received in the email box recently -- have fun! -LK

Dear Lukas,

You know of me (albeit probably vaguely) as a subscriber (to both the most wonderful magazine in the world and all those brilliant classic scores). I have written several brief notes to you; but now I am compelled to say more.

Since the late 50's I have loved film and film music. It all started with Miklos Rozsa and Ben Hur and has not stopped since. In the 70's I digressed briefly for a sojourn through progressive rock, but by 1980 I was back where I belonged musically-film scores. Since then I have become totally devoted. Now, mainly due to FSM and your web site, I have become completely immersed in what I find to be the most wonderful and satisfying of all the 20th century art forms. I am completely intrigued and extremely fascinated by the dialogue carried on both in the magazine and on the web site. It is heartwarming to know that there are quite a few other nut cases (sorry, people) out there who share this exhilirating addiction we have, which is looked upon in some quarters as a rather strange and eccentric occupation.... who gives a damn!

We love detail, trivia and accuracy; and we pride ourselves in our knowledge and complete love of this art. We are also known to be highly opinionated creatures.

It is for these reasons I thought I would commence my correspondence with you in an unusual and fun way:
